Only Dataracks DC-OPS personnel are allowed on the data center floor and all of them go through a thorough background check before joining our team.

We take network security very seriously. Our fully switched Juniper & Cisco Powered
Network is built on hardened router configurations audited by certified network technicians for security.
Our network security team monitors and tests all networking equipment for potential vulnerabilities while our Intrusion Detection System (IDS) continually scans for unwanted events network-wide. We staff our Network Operations Center (NOC) 24 hours a day to monitor and react to security issues.
- Server Security - All devices in your hosting environment are fully
tested before going into production. This begins with the installation of
the latest revisions of core operating software to ensure all software security
is up to date.
Next, we disable the services running on your server most vulnerable to attack and run batteries of tests against the server looking for vulnerabilities to ensure all avenues of entrance to the server are secured. Only then do we certify your server as production-ready.
- Networking Device Security -
Our NOC monitors all networking devices in your hosting environment 24 hours
a day. We look at all firewalls, load-balancers, SSL accelerators, and switches
for security events. If we identify a security issue with a network device
in your hosting environment, we immediately notify your team of dedicated
support engineers to begin troubleshooting the problem. We consider all security
events and breaches critical and they are escalated to Priority 1 events immediately.
- Security Patching -
As new security threats appear, our security team evaluates the degree of
exposure your hosting environment has and if vulnerabilities exist in your
environment, we will devise and recommend a solution - but implement it only
with your approval. This may involve installation of additional software or
the shutdown of certain services on the systems in your hosting environment.
Your support team also takes full responsibility for ensuring that the systems in your hosting environment have the latest security patches and service pack hot-fixes.
- VPN Implementation - Having quick and secure remote access to your hosting environment is essential to managing your Internet operations properly. Our network security team can configure and deploy VPN access to your hosting environment to enable you to update content and manage your database operations securely. Once the VPN solution is deployed, we'll monitor and manage the VPN on an ongoing basis.
