Facility

Our primary server network is strategically located in a 207,000 square foot mission critical grade Data Center in Houston, Texas. Located right in between the two coasts, it is an essential hub of telecommunications and Internet connectivity for the region and the country, overseeing 2% of all the internet traffic for the continental United States. This multi-million dollar, Dell powered facility is seismically designed to withstand most natural disasters - it has survived 3 without dropping a packet. The spacious facility features raised floors, state of the art fiber optics, 30 backbone routers, cutting edge network equipment supported by multiple power feeds, drastically minimizing any exposure to equipment power failure. The datacenter has been fitted with an early alert highly precise fire prevention and a redundant self-contained cooling system.

Network Bandwidth

Dataracks' network infrastructure provides fast, clean, redundant connectivity to the global Internet. Our network is home to over 45 Gigabits of network connectivity comprised of 29 redundant points of entry, redundant, gigabit connections, allowing for approximately 5.625 gigabytes to be transferred each second from our network facilities. Our datacenter is one in a handful of global providers currently capable of supporting 10GigE connections directly to the internet. Our unique network presence and forward-thinking design allows is to provide even greater scalability than many other providers on the internet.

Utilizing Route Science, The World's Smartest Network Devices, Dataracks is able to route data to and from businesses in a manner that minimizes the use of congested public exchanges and private peering points and provide high transmission speeds, lower instances of data packet loss and greater quality of network service to multiple carriers. We uniquely route data traffic using the shortest paths possible at all times - providing absolute network availability at all times to all Internet users worldwide at increasingly faster rates as more points of access are added to the global internet infrastructure.

Cooling

Our Network Facilities are equipped with three 1,000-ton & two 500-ton centrifugal chillers with four 1,500-ton cooling towers cells, and two 250-ton heat pumps - one 1,000-ton chiller can cool the entire building on a 90-degree day. The building is equipped with a "Honeywell" W940 fire monitoring and reporting system located on the Plaza level. Of the 238,000 gallons of water in the cooling towers, 168,000 gallons can be used for the fire pumps..

Security

Access to our network facilities is controlled around-the-clock by armed security personnel. Entry to the underground floors can only occur through secure gates for which security personnel require authorized escorted visitations only. After initial security clearance, a series of other strict security checks are given before final key-card and biometric fingerprint entry to the actual data center. The facility is monitored 24x7 by humans and sensors using numerous security cameras and playback monitors located throughout the center.

Fire Suppression

The fire suppression system is a multi-zoned, dry pipe, pre-action fire suppression system. It is activated via under-floor and overhead smoke detectors. When two or more zones have been activated, the pipes fill with water. Two or more of the sprinkler head caps must then be melted prior to water discursion. Once caps have been melted, water will only be sprayed in the impacted areas. The system is monitored 24x7 by onsite personnel.

Staffing Features

Located on the roof of the building, the building's heliport is licensed for up to 29 landings per day. Helicopter service is contracted with Helinet. The facility has access to a 400-seat cafeteria and sleeping area for those long "all nighter" projects.
